The Week at Park View Elementary

Wow.. what a week it has been!! It seems we have spent the whole week at the school! With Mon being my School Community Council meeting, Wed being Kyler's Cowboy poetry night and Thurs being Kaytlin's wax museum.

So for the Cowboy Poetry.. when we got there one of Kyler's friends was playin his guitar around a little campfire they had made out of paper.

Then each of the kids wrote a poem. They could choose what type of poem they were going to share and Kyler chose the I Wish.. Poem and it went like this....

I had to laugh as a Mother I thought HMMM.. Poor kid doesnt have anything!! I guess I have some ideas for his birthday next week!!

Next was the big Wax Museum!!! For this project they have to choose an American Hero and research it, write a report and then they dress like them and give a speech. Kaytlin turned in all of her 5 top choices and all of them were chosen before her. SO we got to find one ourselves and she chose Christa McAullife and did a great job!! Her little speech went like this..
" Hi my name is Christa McAullife. I was born on Sept 2nd 1948 in Boston, Mass. I died on Jan 28th 1986 in the Challenger explosion. I married Steven J McAullife and had 2 children, I lived to be 37 yrs old"

She got really good at it as the parents and students came through to listen. She thinks she said it at least 50 times!!
And that is our week in a nutshell... Glad its Friday!!!
